Born in rural Illinois, Lin has recently pursued pencil art as her newest medium. Lin’s subject matter is life around her………combining reality often with a twist of whimsy.

 Each drawing is drawn and shaded ONLY with pencil......no smudging with fingers or stumps.  The variety of hardness or softness of the graphite lends itself to the various shadings from light to dark.  It's often a challenge to determine the right one of 24 pencils......but getting the right combination is rewarded by a masterpiece of fine pencil art.

From Lin:   “I have been involved in many facets of art most of my life.  The blank page presents a most welcomed challenge!  "Where do I begin?" is oftentimes the greatest adventure in capturing a portrait, transforming favorite objects into a masterpiece of art, or preserving a family memory.
